It's a club picnic! Saturday, May 24!

Grab your favorite dish, your favorite pardner and come join the fun! Grilled meats are provided, and so are extra points in the unit championship to follow the eats. The fun starts at 6:00 p.m., but sign up early at the bridge club because this event will fill up fast. Sign up to bring either side dish or dessert.

Don't Know What to Bid?
Consider the Odds

So you've been playing bridge since you can remember. At least a few times a week for more weeks than you can remember. And you've seen them all: every possible hand, every possible distribution, every possible point count.

I just don't know
what to bid!

Or have you? Consider that there are 635,013,559,600 possible hands you could be dealt. You won't see all of them until you have played that many hands. Which means that you would have to play two 27-board sessions of bridge daily for nearly 3.23 million years to see every possible hand. Not many people have achieved that!

No wonder I usually don't know what to bid!

Bidding Boxes Now Complete

The bidding boxes all contain the correct cards. Please thumb through them if you think that one is missing. Frequently they are lodged upside down.

Practice keeping your hands away from the box UNTIL you are ready to make your bid. Try not to fidget with the cards, which relays unauthorized information and creates problems.

The Columbus Bridge Center recently updated our computers, requiring changes to the formatting and procedure to upload game results to our web site. All games each week are online for your convenience.

Monday Night Game
Big Fun for NLMs

The Monday night game is definitely finding some big fans, and if you are not yet one of them, give it a try!

Monday night is a great night to play because many of us are ready for a diversion after a weekend of Summer activities and start of the work week. (Well, it definitely has felt like Summer, right?) That's why we look forward to another week of bridge by starting out Monday night!

We set aside Monday nights for our non-life masters (those with less than 750 Master's points), mix in lots of fun, add special promotions and voila, we got a game! If you are qualified and haven't yet played in this fun event, come join us!

And guess what! The winners get a half free play next time!

Plan to Play But Arriving Late?

Let us know if you’ll arrive later than 10 minutes before gametime. That way, we can accommodate you and provide an enjoyable game that starts on time.

It is sooooo difficult to accommodate late players and start a game on time.

Do you partner up with different players throughout the month? Be sure to check your convention card agreements with that partnerbefore each game so you know what your partner's bids mean -- and what your bids mean to your partner!
